SEASON PREVIEW: 2025 Madison College WolfPack Men's Soccer

The Madison College men's soccer team rolls into the 2025 season with a deep and talented roster, and hoping to continue the momentum built from a ten-win season the previous fall. The WolfPack earned the program's first postseason win in the Region 4 Division II Tournament, and nearly upset the region's top seed in the quarterfinals before falling in overtime to complete a 10-5-2 campaign. Third year head coach Logan Fye returns ten players from the roster, and added an impressive group of newcomers, leading many in-and-around the program to think big when it comes to what's possible.

“This year's team should be strong from top to bottom with good depth across the pitch. I anticipate that we will be able to implement our gameplan in nearly every match and force our opponents to have to constantly adjust in order to keep us off the scoresheet. In a region as tough as ours, I expect that health and availability will be important for us to have the success that we are aiming for. The expectation will always be to improve from match to match, reaching our peak towards the end of the season and heading into postseason. We experienced a Region 4 Tournament victory in dramatic fashion, but also a tournament defeat in the wildest of ways. My hope is that because of those experiences in 2024, combined with a strong roster in 2025, we will be poised for a long postseason run that leads to playing on our home field in November with a berth to NJCAA National Tournament on the line!"

Returners

The WolfPack bring back 50% of it's offensive output from a season ago, led by ten-goal scorer Hudson Nielsen. The forward tied for the team lead in goals scored and total points in his debut collegiate season. Fellow forward Riann Amini tallied six goals, while midfielder Cole Rogers added four goals, defender JJ Espinosa had four, Junior Guerrero and Jacob Unger notched two each, and Rodrigo Lasso had one. Defender Geo Prado was one of two players to represent Madison College on the All-Region 4 team in 2024, earning third team accolades after anchoring a backline that limited opponents to less than a goal a game.

“We have several high quality players returning in 2025 who gained valuable experience from last year's successful season but heartbreaking region quarterfinal loss. They are as motivated as ever and will be crucial in leading this team to reach their intended goals. I expect our second year class as a whole to have a great year and push the program onto the next level.”

Newcomers

Fifteen fresh faces including one transfer and 14 true freshman make up the class of newcomers challenging for playing time and hoping to make a consistent contribution. Some players that have made early impressions in camp include forwards Johan Lopez (Baraboo, WI) and Gio Diaz (Lake Geneva, WI), midfielders Paul Glashagen (Germany) and Mason Leslie (Huntley, IL), defenders Will Skinner and Dan Fox, both from Australia, and goalkeepers Coletrane LoBreglio (Oregon, WI) and Caylen Coventry (Spain). Skinner was also tabbed as one of three captains on the team, joining sophomores Espinosa and Unger.

“I am extremely pleased with how this year's recruiting class has come together. We have a strong blend of newcomers coming in from all over the map including greater Madison, other areas of Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, and a number of new international student-athletes as well. Many bring high levels of experience from their youth and high school teams which should help as they acclimate to the college level. I'm confident that we improved in all positions and there will be competition all over the field with the amount of talent within the team.”
