Mark Parrott is a graduate of Portage High School and attended MATC during 1977-1979. At MATC, Parrott: wrestled for the Trojans for two seasons and compiled a 45-13 record. In the 1979 season, his last at MATC, Parrott was a NJCAA National Tournament qualifier and was named a NJCAA All-American after his sixth place finish.

After studying in the Architectural Design program at MATC, Parrott went on to graduate from UW-Stout with a Bachlor of Science degree as a Technology Eduction Teacher. Parrott then became a teacher and the athletic director at Reedsburg High School, where he also served as an assistant wrestling coach. Parrott then moved on to his alma mater, Portage High School, in 1990 where he is a Building Trades, Home Servicing, and Technology instructor and the head wrestling coach.
