Kristin Myers, formerly Kristin Brochtrup grew up in the Appleton area where she played three sports including four years of volleyball at Kaukauna High School. She was a three-year letter winner and all-conference player for the Galloping Ghosts.

In the fall of 2005, Kristin walked on to the Madison College volleyball team and made an immediate impact. In her first season of collegiate volleyball, the typically undersized outside hitter, at five foot seven inches, was more than up for the challenge. An extremely talented and a well-rounded floor leader, Kristin played in all 77 games for the WolfPack during the 2005 season, earning all-conference, all-state, all-tournament, and all-region honors in her freshman season. In addition to those accolades, she led her the team in digs, blocks, and kills, posting the second highest season kill total in school history at the time.

After a phenomenal first season, she was poised for another stellar season and did not disappoint. Kristin played in 92 games for the WolfPack leading the team once again in digs, blocks, and kills. Her season and career dig marks were both school records. When she finished, Kristin ranked in the top ten all-time in four career statistical categories while also earning all-conference, all-state, all-tournament, all-region, and first team All-American honors. She was the first, first team All-American in the thirty-four year history of the Madison College women’s volleyball program. In addition to her outstanding individual honors, she also helped lead her team to conference and state titles in 2006 as the team had an outstanding record of 33-6 and a #3 NJCAA national ranking.

In 2007, then head women’s volleyball coach, Toby Parker said, “Kristin is the “Rudy” of Women’s Volleyball. At 5-7 she is not supposed to be able to do what she can do. Instead, she is a once in a lifetime volleyball player with the total package of skills.”

Off the court, Kristin also served as a Midwest Juniors volleyball coach and a Madison College assistant coach for one season. Additionally, while a student-athlete, Kristin served as an athletics representative on the Student Activities Board. Her attitude, natural leadership qualities, and competitive spirit made her a very special student-athlete.

After graduating from Madison College, in the fall of 2008, she attended massage school in Arizona. Kristin’s career is in injury/sports massage therapy. Kristin and her husband, Tom, along with her three girls, Charlette, Petranella, and Josephine currently live in Scottsdale, AZ.
