Keith Lawver began his outstanding MATC wrestling career in 1983, following a prep career at Boscobel High School that saw him earn All-Conference football honors as well as earning the Most Valuable Wrestler award.

At MATC, Keith was a stand-out not only on the wrestling mat, but also in the classroom. He earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors in both 1984 and 1985. He also captured WJCAA titles both years at the 150 pound weight class and was named to the NJCAA All-Region team in 1985, while qualifying for the NJCAA Tournament. Keith earned the respect of others through his hard work and dedication, highlighted by being named team captain in 1985. Keith was also the MATC Board Sportsperson of the Year and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award at graduation. Keith's career record at MATC was 43-15-1.

Keith's abilities led him to Northern Michigan University where he was a 2-time NCAA qualifier, an NCAA All-American, and a 2-time NCAA Academic All-American. He was named the Outstanding Wrestler at Northern Michigan in 1987 after a runner-up finish at the 142 pound weight class at the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

Keith earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan and has been a sergeant with the Janesville Police Department. Keith and his wife Tammy, they met while both attending MATC, and have two children, Max and Hayden. Keith has been active in
the community as he has been a member of the City of Milton's Community Service Officer Committee as well as an assistant wrestling coach for the always strong Janesville Parker High School program.

Former MATC wrestling coach and coordinator Dennis Hoeser commented, "Keith was one of the most pleasant wrestling surprises at MATC. It was an honor to have been associated with this outstanding individual."
