James Sainsbury

A graduate of Edgerton High School, James Sainsbury wrestled for MATC in 1972-73 and 1973-74. He was co-captain and had the most escapes and reversals in 1974, and was the WTCC and WJCAA champion at 134 pounds in 1973 with a 9-0 record. He went on to UW-Stout where he recorded the most pins, was takedown king, and team captain his senior year. He was the recipient of the University's Scholastic Athlete's Award and graduated with honors.

After graduating from UW-Stout with a bachelor of science degree in industrial education, Sainsbury was employed at Beloit Memorial High School as an automotive technology teacher and wrestling coach, positions he has held since 1976. He has received the Beloit School Districs Teacher of the Month Award several times, and besides his education at MATC and UW-Stout, Sainsbury holds a masters degree in professional development degree in industrial arts education and coaching from UW-Whitewater.

His family includes wife, Barb; and sons, Scott and Todd; and in his free time Sainsbury works wrestling tournaments and dual meets.
