Dr. David L. Williams helped build Madison's municipal sports program into one of the nation's finest.  Played on and coached city baseball and basketball teams until age 50. Served on city baseball, softball and basketball commissions for more than 25 years.

Practice medicine in Madison for 40 years. Served as team physician for Madison West High School athletic teams for 23 year and later at Madison Area Technical College. Services clubs "Mr. Olympics" in 1975 and recipient of numerous other awards for community service. Born in 1905 on an area dairy farm and graduated from Central High and University of Wisconsin Medical School.  Williams was inducted into the Madison Sports Hall of Fame in 1983.
