Corcoran nabs season's first NJCAA Player of the Week

National honor is the first such award in sophomore's career

Following the first week of the 2017-18 basketball season, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Madison College's Megan Corcoran as the Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 1-5 (Week 1). The national honor is the first of Corcoran's career, and the first for the WolfPack since Rachel Slaney earned the award in early January 2017.

In the season's opening week, Corcoran averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds. The Madison, Wisconsin, native posted 22 points in the opener against McHenry County College, followed by a 21-point effort against Highland Community College. The 5'10" guard/forward converted 12-of-43 total shots (27.9%), though struggled to make just 1-of-7 attempts from beyond the three-point arc. Corcoran, however, did a significant amount of damage at the free throw line with an 18-for-23 (78.2%) performance in the two games combined.

Corcoran and the #9 WolfPack suffered lossed in both of their opening games.
