DUBUQUE, IOWA - Labeled as the No. 1 team in NJCAA Division III, the Madison College women's volleyball demonstrated why in their season opener Tuesday, sweeping the Clarke University (IA) JV (NAIA Division I), 3-0. The win marks the ninth time in 12 years under head coach
Toby Parker the WolfPack have opened the year with a win. It came by relatively easy scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-20.
Second year and captain
TeAnn Harms paced the offense with 13 kills on 18 attacks for an impressive .722 hitting percentage. The utility player from Reedsburg, Wisconsin, also keyed the frontline of the defense with a pair of solo blocks.
Fellow sophomore
Andrea Bauer was second on the team with seven kills and hit .238. The former Mukwonago (WI) Indians standout was also part of an impenetrable defense with 11 digs, joining two other players in double figures. Libero
Kaitlin Mooney registered a team-best 16 digs, while Rock Valley College transfer and Green Bay, Wisconsin, native
Keifer Zimmerman had a dozen.Â
Freshman
Keely Brown, a Sun Prairie (WI) HS graduate, was outstanding in her debut as the engine that drives the offense, dishing out 30 assists.
As a team, the WolfPack hit .260 for the match with 35 total kills. They also collected 51 total digs and four blocks.
Madison College hosts it's home opener Thursday, August 25 against Elgin Community College. First serve is at 6:00 p.m.
